Israeli forces on Sunday killed Hezbollah’s head of media relations, Muhammad Afif, in an Israeli strike on the Ras al-Nabaa area in central Beirut, according to Lebanese security sources.
Al-Jazeera TV quoted sources saying that the Israeli attack targeted a building belonging to the Baath Party in the downtown area of Beirut’s capital, causing many residents to flee, especially as the area was considered relatively safe.
Following the raid, Israeli army radio revealed that “Muhammad Afif, the media relations official of Hezbollah, was the target of an assassination operation in Beirut.”
Hezbollah has not commented on the news of the assassination, but Lebanon’s Ministry of Health reported that “one person was martyred, and three others were injured in the Israeli strike on the Ras al-Nabaa area in Beirut.”
Earlier on Sunday, the Israeli air force launched at least 27 strikes targeting Beirut’s southern suburbs and various areas in southern Lebanon, resulting in the destruction of several homes.
Israel’s aggression in Lebanon has so far resulted in 3,452 martyrs and 14,664 injured, including a significant number of children and women, as well as approximately 1.4 million displaced people.
