The results of the MotoGP Barcelona 2024 are in. Francesco Bagnaia claimed victory, but it was Jorge Martin who became the 2024 MotoGP World Champion.
In the race at the Catalunya Circuit on Sunday (11/17/2024), Bagnaia started from pole position. Jorge Martin began the race from fourth.
Ducati rider Bagnaia needed to gain more than 19 points over Pramac Ducati ace Jorge Martin to secure the world championship title.
Bagnaia made an excellent start, successfully maintaining his lead, followed by Jorge Martin. On the second lap, Marc Marquez overtook Martin to claim second place.
Choosing to avoid any mistakes, Jorge Martin opted for a safe approach, securing third place. By the end of the 24-lap race, Bagnaia remained unchallenged. Marc Marquez and Jorge Martin completed the podium.
The top five were rounded out by Gresini Racing’s Alex Marquez and Aprilia’s Aleix Espargaro.
With this result, Jorge Martin finished at the top of the 2024 MotoGP standings with 508 points. Meanwhile, Bagnaia secured second place in the final standings with 498 points.
Marc Marquez successfully claimed third place in the 2024 MotoGP standings with 392 points. The Baby Alien achieved his ambition of finishing in the top three of MotoGP 2024.
