The implementation of the 2024 Regional Election quiet period has been regulated by the General Elections Commission (KPU) through Regulation No. 2 of 2024 concerning the Stages and Schedule for the Election of Governors and Deputy Governors, Regents and Deputy Regents, and Mayors and Deputy Mayors in 2024.

According to the regulations, the quiet period lasts for three days before voting day. For the 2024 Regional Elections, the quiet period runs from Sunday, November 24, 2024, and ends on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.

Here’s the timeline of stages and schedule:

  • Campaign Period: Wednesday, September 25, 2024 – Saturday, November 23, 2024
  • Quiet Period: Sunday, November 24, 2024 – Tuesday, November 26, 2024
  • Voting Day: Wednesday, November 27, 2024
  • Vote Counting and Recapitulation: Wednesday, November 27, 2024 – Monday, December 16, 2024
  • Determination of Elected Candidates: No later than three days after the Constitutional Court officially informs the General Elections Commission (KPU) of registered cases in the Constitutional Court Case Registry (BRPK)
  • Resolution of Election Violations and Disputes: No later than five days after the Constitutional Court’s decision or dismissal ruling is received by the KPU
  • Proposal for Ratification of Elected Candidates: No later than three days after the determination of the elected candidate pair.

During the quiet period, no campaign activities are allowed. According to the KPU regulations, the following rules apply during the 2024 Regional Election quiet period:
