Jakarta – The gubernatorial and vice-gubernatorial candidates of Jakarta, ticket number 2, Dharma Pongrekun and Kun Wardana, held a grand campaign event for the 2024 Jakarta Regional Election today. The campaign took place in Kalideres, West Jakarta.
As observed at Tabaci Field in Kalideres, West Jakarta, on Saturday (11/23/2024), Dharma Pongrekun arrived at 9:25 AM. He was seen wearing a T-shirt that read “Getuk Tular Adab” and a black jacket.
Dharma was greeted with local tambourine music performed by the surrounding community. Attendees enthusiastically chanted slogans for a one-round win.
“Dharma-Kun, one round!” the crowd cheered.
Dharma was also welcomed with Betawi cultural performances, including the Palang Pintu ritual, while he was draped in a traditional Betawi scarf. Former Indonesian Minister of Health (2004-2009) Siti Fadilah was also in attendance.
Meanwhile, his running mate, Kun Wardana, had arrived earlier at 8:45 AM, also wearing a T-shirt with the “Getuk Tular Adab” slogan.
Supporters began gathering at the field, dressed predominantly in black attire. Among them were members of the community group known as the Red Cap Association.
For context, the campaign period for gubernatorial and vice-gubernatorial candidates in the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections is nearing its end, including the Jakarta gubernatorial race. According to the General Election Commission (KPU) regulations, the campaign period will conclude in two days on Saturday (11/23).
The quiet period will take place over three days from November 24 to 26, 2024. Meanwhile, the voting day is scheduled for Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
