After Visiting Six Countries, President Prabowo Returns to Indonesia

President Prabowo Subianto arrived at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at around 05:00 AM WIB. The Head of State’s arrival in Indonesia followed his visit to six countries.

“President Prabowo Subianto has visited six countries: the People’s Republic of China (PRC), the United States (US), Peru, Brazil, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The visit took place from November 8, 2024, to today, November 24, 2024,” said the Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat, Yusuf Permana, in his written statement.

At the foot of the aircraft’s stairs, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Budi Gunawan, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Head of the National Intelligence Agency (BIN) Muhammad Herindra, TNI Commander Agus Subiyanto, and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo greeted President Prabowo upon his arrival.

During his visit to China, President Prabowo met with President Xi Jinping, Prime Minister Li Qiang, and Chairman of the National People’s Congress Zhao Leji. In the United States, President Prabowo met with US President Joe Biden, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, CIA Director William J. Burns, and members of the United States-Indonesia Society (USINDO).

“They have been in Indonesia for a long time and continue to trust Indonesia, especially Indonesia’s economy, and I encourage them to continue investing and participate in our development plans,” said President Prabowo in a press statement after his meeting with USINDO.

In Peru, President Prabowo participated in the 2024 APEC Summit, met with President Dina Boluarte of Peru, and held bilateral meetings with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, and President Luong Cuong of Vietnam. During the APEC Summit, the Head of State emphasized Indonesia’s commitment to promoting open, orderly, and fair trade.

“I think APEC is a good opportunity, where we continue a network between leaders in the Pacific. We discussed many issues where we maintain good trade, open but fair,” explained President Prabowo after attending the 2024 APEC Summit.

In Brazil, specifically in Rio de Janeiro, President Prabowo attended the G20 Summit and the Indonesia-Brazil Business Forum. During the event, President Prabowo also met with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, leaders of MIKTA (Mexico, Indonesia, Republic of Korea, Turkey, and Australia), Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and French President Emmanuel Macron.

Meanwhile, in the United Kingdom, President Prabowo held bilateral meetings with King Charles III, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and Deputy Prime Minister of the UK Angela Rayner. During his meeting with King Charles III, the two leaders discussed various issues, particularly regarding environmental conservation and sustainable forest management.

“I came and he was very concerned about the environment, forest preservation, and the preservation of nature. We have many commonalities. I said that I fully support this and we will cooperate,” said President Prabowo in a press statement.

Lastly, in his state visit to the UAE, President Prabowo and President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ) agreed to strengthen the economic ties and strategic cooperation between Indonesia and the UAE. Both leaders also agreed that the relationship between Indonesia and the UAE serves as a solid foundation for promoting peace, stability, and mutual progress in the international arena.
