Medan – The quick count results from several survey agencies for the Jakarta gubernatorial election show that Ridwan Kamil-Suswono lost to Pramono Anung-Rano Karno. This comes despite Ridwan Kamil-Suswono being endorsed by the 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
Jokowi also commented on the defeat of Ridwan Kamil-Suswono. He refused to address the loss of his endorsed candidates in the election.
“Ask Mr. RK,” said Jokowi at the Al-Mashun Grand Mosque in Medan on Friday (29/12/2024).
The 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections (Pilkada) have garnered significant attention, especially the results from strategic provinces such as DKI Jakarta and West Java (Jabar). Based on the quick count from several survey agencies, with 100% of votes counted in DKI Jakarta, the pair of Pramono Anung and Rano Karno led against Ridwan Kamil and Suswono, even though the latter received support from the Coalition of Indonesia Forward (KIM), Prabowo Subianto, and Joko Widodo.
