Jakarta – Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir expressed the commitment of the Ministry of SOEs and state-owned companies to support the food security program initiated by President Prabowo Subianto.
According to Erick, Indonesia’s success in increasing agricultural productivity is the result of strong collaboration and commitment under Prabowo’s leadership.
“Alhamdulillah (Thank God), the Ministry of SOEs and all state-owned companies related to food have been able to implement the directives of President Prabowo Subianto,” said Erick in a statement on Tuesday (December 3, 2024).
Erick emphasized that from the start, SOEs have been fully committed to supporting all food security and independence programs that have been a major focus of Prabowo’s administration. He also highlighted the importance of synergy with various stakeholders to ensure the achievement of food self-sufficiency.
“SOEs fully support and collaborate intensively with various ministries, agencies, and institutions in realizing the food self-sufficiency program,” Erick continued.
On this occasion, Erick also expressed his gratitude for the latest achievements in the food sector. President Prabowo had previously announced that Indonesia’s food reserves for the coming year are sufficient, meaning there is no need to import rice.
“We are grateful, as President Prabowo mentioned, Indonesia’s food reserves are sufficient, so there will be no need to import rice next year. This motivates us at the Ministry of SOEs and the food SOEs to work even harder to continue increasing Indonesia’s food productivity,” said Erick.
This success is expected to serve as a push for all parties to continue strengthening collaboration in supporting the national food independence, in line with the grand vision of President Prabowo’s government. Erick also conveyed that President Prabowo’s appreciation further motivates the Ministry of SOEs and the food SOEs to achieve the target of food self-sufficiency in Indonesia.
