Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto is confident that Indonesia will not import rice next year. He believes this is due to the positive developments in the country’s food production.
This confidence was expressed by Prabowo during the Cabinet Plenary Session at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday (2/12/2024). Prabowo stated that food reserves have increased.
“I received very encouraging news that our food production has risen,” Prabowo said during the Cabinet Plenary Session at the State Palace in Jakarta, on Monday (2/12/2024).
Prabowo mentioned that the food reserves are currently at their largest in recent years. He stated that the food reserves in the warehouses are at 2 million tons.
“Our food reserves are probably the largest in recent years, with around 2 million tons in our warehouses, which is very large,” he said.
He is confident that Indonesia will not need to import rice in 2025.
“My belief is that in 2025 we will no longer import rice, and our reserves will be sufficient,” Prabowo added.
