Jakarta – A 1-2 loss to Athletic Bilbao on their visit caused Real Madrid to fail in closing the gap with Barcelona in the Spanish League standings.

Real Madrid had to drop points in their match on Thursday (5/12/2024) early morning WIB. Jude Bellingham’s goal couldn’t prevent Madrid from losing to Bilbao.

As a result, Real Madrid now has 33 points from 15 matches, placing them second in the Spanish League standings.

Despite the loss, Madrid had the potential to continue closing the gap with Barcelona, who leads the standings with 37 points from 16 matches.

Now, Real Madrid will continue to put pressure on Barcelona, armed with one more match to play, although they failed to gain points in their most recent game.

On the other hand, Real Madrid also needs to be wary of Atletico Madrid, who are in third place in the standings. The two teams are separated by just one point.
