Jakarta – Harvey Moeis, a defendant in the corruption case regarding tin management, asserted that the Rp 33 billion deposit of Sandra Dewi is entirely the result of his wife’s hard work. Harvey stated that he had no involvement in the deposit.
Initially, the defense attorney inquired about the Rp 33 billion deposit belonging to Sandra Dewi. The lawyer asked whether Harvey Moeis had any involvement in increasing the deposit amount.
“Regarding the account of your wife, you mentioned that there has been a savings account that has been kept by your wife, because you are separated in terms of assets, and the asset separation documents will also be presented in our defense,” said the defense attorney.
“Now, there is a bank deposit account totaling Rp 33 billion, which is divided into two deposits. Because when we look at your wife’s tax return, the amounts have remained the same, but they have all been consolidated in the bank with a total of Rp 33 billion, which came from your wife’s income. Did you have any involvement in adding to the value of this deposit, or is it entirely your wife’s?” the lawyer continued.
Harvey replied that he was not aware of the account in question. He stated that Sandra Dewi never informed him about another account resulting from her hard work as an actress.
“This is the account I mentioned earlier, which I never knew existed,” Harvey said.
“That bank account?” asked the lawyer.
“That 100%, if there’s more than 100%, then that’s all her hard work, shooting day and night, in the middle of the forest, and so on,” Harvey clarified.
Previously, the judge had inquired about the Rp 33 billion deposit to Sandra Dewi. However, Sandra confirmed that the deposit was 100% the result of her own efforts.
“Then, what about this Rp 33 billion deposit? In the bank? Was that from 2004?” asked the judge when Sandra Dewi was testifying at the Central Jakarta District Court on Thursday (October 10).
“2004, so, this account in the bank is 100% the result of my hard work since 2004, and there has never been any fund transfers from my husband. Everything that is here, to my right (Helena), has never come from him. So, this is 100% the result of my hard work, and I have proven this with my bank statement, Your Honor,” Sandra answered.
Sandra stated that the Rp 4.1 billion deposit in Niaga Bank was also her own earnings. She explained that the money came from her role as a brand ambassador for a private bank for six years.
“Then, the deposit of Rp 100 million in Niaga Bank?” asked the judge.
“More. I think so,” replied Sandra.
“Ah, Rp 4.1 billion?” the judge clarified.
“Yes, I was the BA for six years, Your Honor, so this is 100% payment from the bank to me and my children as the BA for the bank for six years,” Sandra responded.
