Jakarta – OpenAI has released a new subscription plan for its chatbot, ChatGPT, called ChatGPT Pro. This announcement is part of OpenAI’s “12 Days of OpenAI” series, where the company, led by Sam Altman, is introducing a variety of new features and services.

ChatGPT Pro is a paid subscription plan priced at USD 200 or approximately IDR 3.2 million per month. OpenAI stated that this plan is aimed at researchers, engineers, and other users who use AI for research-level tasks on a daily basis.

As part of this plan, ChatGPT Pro subscribers will have access to O1, the latest AI model developed by OpenAI, which is capable of reasoning. This AI model is claimed to be faster and 34% less likely to make significant errors when answering difficult questions.

The O1 AI model comes in several versions, including O1 Pro Mode, which is the highest version and can only be accessed by ChatGPT Pro subscribers. This version can solve the most complex problems but requires greater computational power.

“According to evaluations conducted by external expert testers, O1 Pro Mode produces more accurate and comprehensive answers, especially in areas like data science, programming, and legal case analysis,” said OpenAI, as quoted by Engadget on Friday (6/12/2024).

ChatGPT Pro subscribers will also be able to access other AI models, such as GPT-4O and O1-Mini, as well as the Advanced Voice mode, which allows users to have a conversation with the chatbot in a human-like manner.

OpenAI will continue to offer the ChatGPT Plus subscription plan at USD 20 per month. This plan provides early access to new features but does not include the O1 Pro Mode model.

In the future, OpenAI plans to add more productivity features requiring intensive computational power to ChatGPT Pro. These updates will begin rolling out this week and next week.

OpenAI also plans to add support for web browsing, file uploads, and more, although the launch dates for these features have not been revealed. Additionally, OpenAI will announce the ChatGPT Pro Grant Program, which will award 10 ChatGPT Pro packages to health researchers at leading institutions.
