Jakarta – The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has set a policy to reduce airplane ticket prices in the Christmas and New Year 2024/2025 period. The policy will last for 16 days from December 19, 2024 to January 3, 2025.
Responding to this directive, Pelita Air admitted that it is ready to reduce its airplane ticket prices by 10% in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto’s directive. President Director of PT Pelita Air Service Dendy Kurniawan said that his party would reduce airplane ticket prices according to the period set by the government.
“(Decrease in airplane ticket prices) According to the period set by the government of course,” said Dendy when contacted, Sunday (8/12/2024) yesterday.
Dendy said, according to Prabowo’s direction, this state-owned subsidiary airline had set a minimum ticket price reduction scheme of 10% specifically for the Nataru 2024/2025 period. In fact, he also admitted that Pelita Air also provides discounts on airplane ticket prices greater than those determined by the government which apply on several routes, days, and certain hours.
“As instructed, we have reduced the price by at least 10%. There are even some routes, days, and hours where the reduction is more than 10%,” he explained.
Meanwhile, quoting from one of the travel agent platforms, Pelita Air has reduced its airplane ticket prices for the Jakarta-Bali route. Pelita Air’s flight ticket price for the route is priced at Rp 1,129,000 from the normal price of Rp 1,229,000.
Add New Flight Routes
Not only that, Pelita Air also provides the inaugural flight route for Jakarta-Medan which will start on December 16, 2024. “We will open the first flight of a new route, namely Jakarta-Medan on December 16, 2024,” said Dendy.
On the other hand, Dendy also revealed that Pelita Air’s airplane ticket purchases showed an increase ahead of the Nataru celebration this period. He said, the increase in airplane ticket purchases at the state-owned airline occurred mainly for tourist areas.
“Almost all routes show an increase ahead of Nataru, especially our favorite tourist destination, Bali,” he said.
The same is done by the airline Super Air Jet, which also provides a new Jakarta-Sorong route starting December 20, 2024.
“Direct flights from Jakarta to Sorong with Super Air Jet starting December 20, 2024,” said Super Air Jet President Director Ari Azhari in his written statement, written Sunday (8/12/2024).
Super Air Jet itself provides a flight schedule in Jakarta Terminal 2E – Sorong with a departure time of 08.05 WIB. Conversely, the Sorong – Jakarta route departs at 15.10 WIT.
