Jakarta – State-owned enterprises in the aviation and tourism sector PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney will operate 37 airports for 24 hours to support the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays.
“We are also preparing our airports, 37 airports will operate 24 hours,” said InJourney President Director Maya Watono in a statement to detikTravel, Monday (9/12/2024).
The 24-hour Operating Hour arrangement was carried out for 18 days starting from December 19 to January 5, 2025.
Maya said that the peak departure flow is predicted to occur on December 20, 2024 and the peak return flow will occur on January 4, 2024.
The number of InJourney Airports passenger traffic during the Christmas-New Year period is projected to increase by 4.52 percent compared to last year. International passenger traffic in 2024 amounted to 2.2 million pax, an increase of 23.2 percent from the previous year, which amounted to 1.79 million pax. For domestic passengers in 2024 amounted to 6 million pax.
Meanwhile, the number of aircraft movements during the 2025 Christmas-New Year holiday period is projected to decrease by 2.84 percent compared to last year, even so international aircraft movements in 2024 amounted to 12,965 movements, an increase of 15.4 percent from the previous year, which amounted to 11,227 movements.
To facilitate passenger travel activities, InJourney Airports prepared 15,998 personnel and several touch points, namely customer service 336 personnel, facility care 2,883 personnel, trolleyman 381 personnel.
“InJourney also expressed support for the reduction in tariffs for Aircraft Passenger Services (PJP2U) and Aircraft Placement and Storage Landing Services (PJP4U) for 16 days from December 19, 2024 to January 3, 2025, which applies to all economy class domestic flights. We hope that our support initiatives will provide a high multiplier effect on the economic side, especially on the revival of Indonesian tourism,” Maya said.
