Jakarta – Electronic BPKB has started to be implemented on the island of Java. The presence of this electronic BPKB makes the mutation process faster, only 30 minutes!
Vehicle administration matters are now becoming more sophisticated. Gradually, it has begun to adopt digital and electronic-based technology. The latest is the implementation of the Motor Vehicle Ownership Document (BPKB), which has also started to be electronic. The electronic vehicle ownership document (BPKB) is claimed to have several advantages.
Not only that, the vehicle mutation process also becomes much shorter with the electronic BPKB. Mutations that usually take months can be completed in just 30 minutes with the electronic BPKB.
“Half an hour if everything is already in digital archives, if everything is already digital, already using the electronic vehicle registration certificate, half an hour,” revealed the Director of Registration and Identification of the National Police Traffic Corps, Yusri Yunus, to detikOto recently.
This is made possible by the implementation of archives that use a digital system. Yusri said that so far the mutation process has taken a long time because the archive warehouse is still very conventional. Searching for vehicle data also takes a long time.
“Later, we won’t have an archive warehouse anymore, we’ll use a digital system gradually as well.” All this time we’ve been searching for archives, later we will just input everything digitally into the server. Just put the BPKB in the card reader and all the data will come out, right? It’s already using technology, but slowly,” added Yusri.
Yusri emphasized that this electronic BPKB has already started to be implemented. However, it has not yet been implemented nationwide simultaneously.Korlantas, Yusri said, will prioritize the implementation of electronic vehicle registration certificates (BPKB) on the island of Java, considering the large number of vehicles there. Only then will it start targeting other regions.
On the other hand, with the implementation of the electronic vehicle registration certificate (BPKB), no additional fees will be charged. The cost still refers to Government Regulation No. 76 of 2020 concerning Types and Tariffs of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) applicable to the National Police. However, it is possible that there will be a cost adjustment in the future related to the materials and technology embedded in the electronic vehicle registration certificate (BPKB). “The cost remains the same, but maybe in the future, yes.” It’s not easy for us to propose PNBP; it has to go through the Minister of Finance. Later on, as we progress, we will add more technology. But raising prices means raising PNBP, and PNBP is under the Ministry of Finance, so we have to present it to the Ministry of Finance first,” Yusri concluded.
