Jakarta – Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja lost their second match at the BWF World Tour Finals 2024. The Indonesian mixed doubles bowed 17-21, 18-21 in the hands of Malaysian pair Chen Tang Jie / Koh Ee Wei.
In the match at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, Thursday (12/12/2024) morning WIB, Dejan / Gloria immediately played a tight point struggle with their opponents.
Until the first game interval, Dejan / Gloria were behind. The score shows the Indonesian pair left behind 7-11 in the duration of 13 minutes.
After the interval, Dejan / Gloria continued to pursue and got closer until the position 17-19. But Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei continued to add points until they finally won the first game. Dejan/Gloria lost 17-21 in this game.
The second game also started with Dejan / Gloria having to be in a chasing position. But this time they were able to equalize just before the interval, at 9-9 and 10-10, although in the end they still had to miss 11-10.
After the interval, Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei stepped on the gas again and scored consecutive points. Dejan/Gloria continued to try to catch up, but in the end still had to recognize the opponent’s superiority 18-21. This match was completed in 43 minutes.
This was Dejan/Gloria’s first defeat from their two matches at the BWF World Tour Finals 2024. In their first match, Dejan/Gloria were able to win in a three-game match against Japanese mixed doubles Hiroki Midorikawa/Natsu Saito.
