The withdrawal of He Ji Ting/Ren Xiang Yu opened the way for Fajar/Rian. Fajar/Rian lost in the second match of Group B at the BWF World Tour Finals 2024. Facing Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium on Thursday (12/12/2024) evening WIB, Fajar/Rian lost 21-19, 14-21, 15-21.
A moment later, He/Ren withdrew due to injury. The Chinese pair was previously defeated by Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani.
With the withdrawal of He/Ren, Fajar/Rian are guaranteed a spot in the semifinals of the BWF World Tour Finals 2024. Fajar/Rian were originally scheduled to face the home pair in the final match of Group B on Friday (13/12/2024).
One remaining ticket from Group B will be contested by Sabar/Reza and Chia/Soh. The two pairs will face each other on Friday (13/12/2024).
This will be the first meeting between the two pairs. The winner of this match will advance to the semifinals of the BWF World Tour Finals 2024 alongside Fajar/Rian.
