Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto admitted that he felt strange when the 7th President Joko Widodo appointed Bahlil Lahadalia as the Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet. Prabowo even asked about Bahlil’s university.
That confession was made by Prabowo Subianto while giving a speech at the 60th anniversary celebration of the Golkar Party in Sentul, Bogor, on Thursday night (12/12/2024). Prabowo admitted that he was impressed by Bahlil even though he had not known him for long.

However, he said, usually a Minister of Investment is an alumnus of prestigious universities in the world, such as Harvard and Oxford. “When I joined Mr. Jokowi in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, I also found it a bit strange that he was chosen as the Minister of Investment.” Usually, the Minister of Investment is a graduate from a university in America, right? Harvard University or Stanford or Brooklyn. If not America, at least England. Oxford University, Cambridge University, or Sorbonne,” he said.
