Jakarta – PDIP officially dismissed Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and Bobby Nasution. Thus, the three of them are no longer PDIP cadres.
The announcement of their dismissal was made directly by the Chairman of the Honorary Board of the DPP PDIP, Komarudin Watubun. He conveyed it directly to the public in front of the PDIP cadres at the command of the PDIP Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri.
“I, Komarudin Watubun, Chair of the Honorary Board of PDIP, hereby on December 18, 2024, received direct orders from the PDIP Chairperson to officially announce, in accordance with the party’s bylaws and regulations, in front of all the Chairpersons of the PDIP DPD across Indonesia.” The Party’s DPP will announce the dismissal decision letter against Mr. Joko Widodo, Mr. Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and Mr. Bobby Nasution, as well as 27 other members who are being dismissed,” said Komarudin as shown in the video, Monday (12/16/2024).
Here are the points related to the decision to dismiss the three individuals:
- 3 Decrees as the Basis for Dismissal
PDIP dismissed Jokowi, Gibran, and Bobby based on three decrees. The three decrees were even issued at different times.
Jokowi was dismissed based on Decree number 1649/KPTS/DPP/XII/2024 issued on December 14, 2024. Meanwhile, Gibran was dismissed based on Decree number 1650/KPTS/DPP/XII 2024 dated December 4, and Bobby was dismissed based on Decree number 1651/KPTS/DPP/XII/2024 also issued on December 4, 2024. - Dismissal Decree Signed by Megawati Soekarnoputri
Meanwhile, Komarudin stated that the three dismissal decrees for Jokowi, Gibran, and Bobby Nasution were approved by Megawati Soekarnoputri. In fact, he said, Megawati personally signed the decree.
“The DPP of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle, signed by Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri, and Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto,” read the three decrees by Komarudin Watubun. - The Dismissal Announcement Was Attended by Said Abullah, Bambang Pacul, and Olly Dondokambey
Another fact was revealed behind the dismissal of Jokowi, Gibran, and Bobby Nasution. The dismissal of the three was attended by senior PDIP officials.
In the video, on Monday (12/16/2024), four top PDIP officials were seen, namely the Head of PDIP’s Bappilu Bambang Wuryanto or Bambang Pacul and the Head of PDIP’s DPP Said Abdullah. Mere appears to be sitting at the table. Meanwhile, the other managers are standing around the table.
They are united in wearing the party’s distinctive red attributes. Behind them, a screen displaying an injured bull running with glowing eyes can be seen.
The announcement of the dismissal was read by the Chairman of the Honorary Board of the DPP PDIP, Komarudin Watubun, who was sitting in the middle. He was accompanied by three DPP officials beside him, namely the General Treasurer (Bendum) Olly Dondokambey, Bambang Pacul, and Said Abdullah.
Chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri was noticeably absent on that occasion. PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and PDIP DPP Chairperson Puan Maharani were also not seen. - Gibran Was Dismissed for Being Prabowo’s Vice Presidential Candidate
PDIP Also Revealed the Reasons for Dismissing Jokowi and His Family. It turns out that PDIP dismissed Gibran because he did not comply with the party’s decision regarding running for vice president from another party. In the dismissal decision letter, PDIP’s considerations for dismissing Gibran were outlined. One of the points discusses Gibran, who briefly served as the national campaign spokesperson and spokesperson for the Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD pair in 2023 based on Instruction Letter Number 5640/IN/DPP/X/2023.
Then, another point mentions that Gibran was suddenly nominated by the Golkar Party as the vice-presidential candidate to accompany Prabowo Subianto on October 21, 2023. Gibran also attended the nomination event. In the end, Gibran was declared as the vice-presidential candidate.
“Considering that the Respondent has officially been declared as the Vice Presidential Candidate to accompany Prabowo Subianto as the Presidential Candidate supported by the Indonesian Forward Coalition,” reads one of the points of consideration included in the Gibran Dismissal Decree.
Then, Gibran officially registered with the KPU, which was also considered by PDIP. Gibran is known to have registered on October 25, 2023.
“Considering that on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, the Respondent officially registered with the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU) as the Vice Presidential Candidate accompanying Prabowo Subianto as the Presidential Candidate supported by the Indonesia Maju Coalition,” the SK continued.
Based on the above facts, PDIP then dismissed Gibran. Gibran was also said to have violated the party’s code of ethics and discipline by becoming the vice-presidential candidate of another party. “The respondent was proven to have committed a violation of the Party’s Code of Ethics and Discipline by not adhering to the Party’s regulations and decisions by becoming the Vice Presidential Candidate of another party,” the conclusion of the SK stated. - Reasons for Jokowi’s Dismissal: Ethical Violations to Interventions
Additionally, PDIP also revealed the considerations for dismissing Jokowi. In the SK for Jokowi’s dismissal, it is stated that Jokowi is considered to have taken actions that undermine the people’s trust in PDIP. Jokowi is also mentioned to have engaged in activities that harm the party. “Considering that actions that can undermine the people’s trust in the Party and activities that harm the good name and interests of the Party are prohibited for every member of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle as stipulated in Article 22 letters (b) and (c) of the Party’s Statutes,” reads one of the PDIP’s considerations in the related SK. In addition, Jokowi is also considered to have intervened in the Constitutional Court for family interests. PDIP also believes that Jokowi has damaged Indonesia’s democratic system. “Considering that the intervention in the Constitutional Court and the use of state instruments for personal and family interests have caused systemic impacts that mark the beginning of the deterioration of the democratic system, the legal system, and the moral ethics of the nation and state,” the SK continued. Based on this, PDIP dismissed Jokowi for allegedly violating the party’s code of ethics and member discipline. “The accused has been proven to have committed violations of the Party’s Code of Ethics and Discipline by undermining the ideals and objectives of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle,” added the decree.
