Jakarta – The death toll in Palestine due to Israeli attacks continues to rise. Recently, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that the death toll in Gaza has exceeded 45,000 people.
According to Aljazeera, Tuesday (12/17/2024), the majority of the victims are women and children. The entire family was reportedly wiped out by Israel.
The victims included the family of three-month-old Reem Jihad Abu Hayya. They were killed in an Israeli attack in August in Khan Younis.
The impact of the bomb threw the child out of his house, where he was later found in the rubble, with burns and debris all over his small body.
Previously, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas stated that Israel intends to “empty” the Gaza Strip of Palestinians, especially in the northern part, where Israel has launched massive attacks this month.
“It has been a full year since the greatest disaster experienced by the Palestinian people after the Nakba of 1948, namely the Israeli war in which genocide and ethnic cleansing were committed in the Gaza Strip,” said Abbas in his speech at the BRICS summit held in Kazan, Russia, on Thursday (24/10).
“This is part of a plan to empty the region of its people, especially now in northern Gaza, where the occupying forces are starving the residents there,” added Abbas, as reported by AFP news agency.
