Jakarta – Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor Perry Warjiyo spoke out about the news of the search of the Bank Indonesia office by the Corruption Eradication Commission. (KPK). The search was conducted in connection with the alleged corruption case involving Bank Indonesia’s CSR funds.
Perry confirmed that the KPK conducted a search at the Bank Indonesia Headquarters on Monday, December 16, 2024. The arrival of the KPK, said Perry, was to complete the investigation process into the alleged misuse of BI’s CSR funds. “It is true that on the night of Monday, December 16, 2024, Bank Indonesia received the KPK at the BI Headquarters. The KPK’s arrival was to complete the investigation process related to the misuse of CSR,” said Perry in the Announcement of the BI Board of Governors’ Meeting Results, at the BI Complex, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (12/18/2024).
During the search, Perry said the KPK brought documents related to CSR to deepen the investigation process.
Perry said that his party would respect the legal process carried out by the KPK in accordance with the applicable procedures and regulations. They will also support the investigation efforts and be cooperative with the KPK.
“We support the investigation efforts and are cooperative with the KPK. And we have shown this so far, both through the statements given by our officials and the submission of documents,” Perry stated.
Previously, the KPK searched Bank Indonesia (BI). The search was conducted on the night of Monday, December 16, 2024.
“Yes, it’s true that the KPK team conducted a search at the BI office last night,” said KPK Spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika to reporters on Tuesday (12/17/2024).
The search is related to allegations of corruption in the use of corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds by Bank Indonesia (BI) and the Financial Services Authority. (OJK).
