Jakarta – The reason PDIP expelled Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and Bobby Nasution from the party has left netizens wondering. Searches on Google and X regarding this matter have increased.
Jokowi was dismissed by PDIP based on Decree number 1650/KPTS/DPP/XII 2024. In the decision letter read by the Chairman of the Honorary Board of the DPP PDIP, Komarudin Watubun, the reasons for PDIP’s dismissal of Jokowi were stated.
In the last four hours, Google Trends recorded fluctuations in search interest related to ‘Jokowi’ and ‘Why did PDIP fire Jokowi’. In the related queries that fall into the ‘rising’ category, or increased, is ‘pdip pecat jokowi gibran’ with a rise of +110%. ‘Megawati’ also appears with a percentage of +60%.
Meanwhile, on the social media platform X, ‘Jokowi’ entered the trending topic with more than 33,000 tweets at the time this news was written. Here are some tweets from netizens:
“PDIP just fired Jokowi and his gang.” Is there any impact? Why not from the beginning 😌,” netizens wondered.Even though PDIP has already elevated Jokowi, from Mayor to President. Why was Jokowi fired? Is it because he is no longer serving as President? “Why was he only fired now?” netizens wondered.”Clearly, Jokowi has been fired by PDI-P, which means PDI-P no longer needs @jokowi, at least for now, but who knows about the future 😄😄,” commented a netizen.
“Jokowi’s reputation has never fallen, on the contrary, it always makes PDI-P people convulse 😅😅😅,” someone else’s opinion.
“Let me tell you, without Jokowi, PDI-P is just like crumbs of rengginang.” The proof is that Jokowi’s voters moved to Prabowo, and Wan Uban didn’t get any votes. Because of that, all the PDIP cadres who were already confident with Jokowi became overly emotional together and, of course, lost. “Just imagine, even in Central Java,” he remarked.
One of the considerations expressed by PDIP is that Jokowi is deemed to have taken actions that undermine the public’s trust in PDIP. Jokowi is also said to have engaged in activities that harm the party. “Considering that actions that can undermine the public’s trust in the Party and activities that harm the good name and interests of the Party are prohibited for every member of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle as stipulated in Article 22 letters (b) and (c) of the Party’s Bylaws,” reads one of the PDIP’s considerations in the related decree.
In addition, Jokowi is also considered to have intervened in the Constitutional Court for the benefit of his family. PDIP also considers that Jokowi has damaged Indonesia’s democratic system.
“Considering that the intervention in the Constitutional Court and the use of state instruments for personal and family interests have caused systemic impacts that mark the beginning of the deterioration of the democratic system, the legal system, and the moral and ethical values of nationhood and statehood,” the SK continued.
On that basis, PDIP also expelled Jokowi because he was deemed to have violated the party’s code of ethics and discipline. “The respondent was proven to have committed violations of the Party’s Code of Ethics and Discipline by undermining the ideals and goals of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle,” added the SK.
