Jakarta -The KPK urges civil servants (ASN) and state officials to reject all forms of Christmas gratifications. For those who have received it, the KPK requests that the acceptance be reported no later than 30 working days.
“If a civil servant, state organizer, or state official has already received gratification related to their position and contrary to their obligations or duties, they are required to report it to the KPK no later than 30 working days from the date the gratification was received,” said KPK Spokesperson Team Budi Prasetyo in his statement on Monday (23/12/2024).
Budi said there is also an appeal to prohibit receiving gratuities in the form of a circular letter. In his letter, ASN, state organizers, and the public are not to give or receive gratifications that are not related to their positions.
“The appeal is outlined in Circular Letter Number 1636/GTF.00.02/01/03/2024, which reaffirms Circular Letter Number 6 of 2023 regarding the Prevention of Corruption and Control of Gratification related to Religious Holidays,” he said.
“Considering that the acceptance of gratuities can have negative impacts, such as causing conflicts of interest, being contrary to regulations or codes of ethics, and even the risk of criminal sanctions,” he added.
If the receipt of gratification is reported, the KPK will further analyze whether the item received belongs to the state or can be owned by the recipient. The reporter, he said, can come directly to the KPK to report the received gratification or do it online.
“Every report of gratification, the KPK will analyze the report and determine whether it constitutes prohibited gratification and becomes state property or is legitimate gratification received and becomes the property of the recipient,” he said.
