Jakarta – 2024 has been a tough year for Sandra Dewi, even her usually joyous Christmas celebration seemed different this time.
A few days before Christmas, Sandra Dewi’s husband, Harvey Moeis, was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison, fined Rp 1 billion, and ordered to pay Rp 210 billion in restitution for a corruption case involving tin management that reportedly caused state losses of up to Rp 300 trillion, according to the Corruption Court (Tipikor) judges.
Sandra Dewi chose not to attend the sentencing hearing for her husband. Her lawyer explained her absence was partly due to the crowded atmosphere in the courtroom.
However, something about Sandra Dewi caught public attention. Her Instagram account, @sandradewi88, no longer displays photos of Harvey Moeis, including those from their wedding. Additionally, Sandra Dewi has disabled the comment section on her posts.
detikcom contacted Sandra Dewi’s representatives but has yet to receive a response regarding her decision to remove Harvey Moeis from her Instagram account.
After Harvey Moeis’s sentencing hearing, his lawyer, Marcella Santosa, provided an explanation for Sandra Dewi’s absence from the court.
“We think she may have considered watching it via your live coverage. Since you’ve already broadcasted it live,” she said in the Gunung Sahari area, Central Jakarta, yesterday.
“This makes it easier for her to see the verdict. Thank you to the media friends who covered it,” she added.
During the sentencing hearing, it was revealed that Sandra Dewi’s assets would also be seized. This raised objections from the legal team, as Sandra Dewi had testified that some personal assets acquired during her career as an artist were also confiscated.
Moreover, Sandra Dewi and Harvey Moeis have a prenuptial agreement separating their assets. Sandra Dewi consistently emphasized during her testimony that some of the confiscated assets were solely her property.
“If all these assets are confiscated, including those under Sandra Dewi’s name, even though they have a prenuptial agreement, this must be reviewed more thoroughly,” said Harvey Moeis’s lawyer, Andi, at the Tipikor Court in Central Jakarta on Monday (23/12/2024).
The legal team representing Harvey Moeis and Sandra Dewi will wait for the official written verdict from the Tipikor Court in Central Jakarta to determine their next legal steps.
“We have not yet received the written verdict, so we don’t know the basis for this ruling. But clearly, we will consider further legal actions within the next seven days,” they concluded.
