Probolinggo -The Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 (Nataru) holidays in Bromo are not like usual. Quiet, far from being crowded. This has been complained about by the tourism operators in Bromo.

Tourism operators around Mount Bromo, who are usually busy with many tourists, are now complaining about the lack of visitors.

From observations at the location, Bromo is indeed not very crowded with tourists, if not to say deserted. This is suspected to be due to two factors.

First, because the rainy season has already started. The second reason is the increase in ticket prices for tourists.

The entrance fee for domestic tourists (Wisnus) is now set at IDR 54,000 per person on weekdays and IDR 79,000 on holidays. Meanwhile, for foreign tourists (Wisman), the fee is set at Rp 255,000 per person.

In addition, for 4-wheeled vehicles, the entrance fee to Mount Bromo is Rp 10,000 per unit, 2-wheeled vehicles Rp 5,000 per unit, bicycles Rp 2,000 per unit, and horses Rp 1,500 per unit.

This regulation is based on circular letter number: PG.08/T.8/TU/KSA.5.1/B/10/2024 regarding the Adjustment of Entrance Fees at Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Based on PP 36/2024 concerning Types and Tariffs of Non-Tax Revenue Applicable in the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.

“The difference is very significant compared to the Nataru holiday season last year.” “Usually, there are already many tourists coming to Mount Bromo by now,” said Edi Purwanto, one of the tourism operators in Mount Bromo.

In fact, Edi said, it is so quiet that there is currently no traffic congestion at all around the road leading to Mount Bromo. Which usually keeps security officers busy managing traffic flow.

“Now it’s quiet, very different from before.” There is no traffic at all now. Especially since it is now the rainy season, it might have a significant impact,” said Edi.

The emptiness of tourists during the Nataru holiday season is hoped to be taken into consideration by the relevant parties so that such a situation does not continue to harm the tourism service providers on one of the most beautiful mountains in the world.
