Jakarta – PT HM Sampoerna Tbk (Sampoerna) has successfully held the INKOMPASS Innovation Challenge 2024. This business case competition invited hundreds of students and recent graduates to present creative ideas offering innovative solutions to real business challenges.

In its inaugural event, the challenge focused on developing human resources and creating economic value through the Sampoerna Retail Community (SRC). The theme reflects Sampoerna’s commitment to making a positive impact on society.

After a rigorous proposal submission and evaluation process, 50 finalists were invited to a three-day bootcamp in Jakarta from November 19-21, 2024. During the bootcamp, the finalists were divided into 16 teams, each consisting of three to four members. They refined their proposals and presented final recommendations to a panel of judges comprising senior leaders from Sampoerna.

In addition to enhancing their creative ideas, the finalists received training on crafting innovative business proposals and opportunities to network with mentors, industry leaders, and peers from diverse backgrounds.

The winners earned exciting opportunities and rewards, including a trip to visit Philip Morris International (PMI) affiliates in Japan for the 1st Place Best Team and prizes totaling IDR 30 million. Winners also gained opportunities for internships or employment at Sampoerna, mentoring programs with senior Sampoerna leaders, certificates of recognition, and training sessions.

“Sampoerna greatly appreciates the recommendations presented by the participants. With the conclusion of the INKOMPASS Innovation Challenge 2024, Sampoerna hopes the spirit of innovation and collaboration will continue to thrive among Indonesian students, driving positive changes for the future,” Sampoerna stated in an official release on Friday (January 3, 2025).
