Squid Game Season 3 Release Date Allegedly Leaked

Jakarta – Good news for Squid Game fans: you won’t have to wait long for the continuation of this mind-bending drama.

Netflix recently hinted at the release date for Squid Game Season 3. In a teaser uploaded on Netflix’s official YouTube channel, June 27, 2025, was clearly shown. However, the video has since been made private, and the date removed.

Initially, Netflix kept the Season 3 release date tightly under wraps. However, the teaser sparked fan speculation—was this a deliberate marketing strategy?

The teaser introduced Chul-su, a mysterious figure teased during the post-credit scene of Season 2.

The fact that the new season is set to be released just six months from now has raised eyebrows, especially given the three-year gap between Seasons 1 and 2.

According to Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk, however, Season 3 is not a new season in the traditional sense.

Hwang explained that Seasons 2 and 3 form one large storyline split into two parts.
“I originally envisioned it as one series,” Hwang revealed.

However, as the story developed and the episodes became too numerous, Hwang decided to split it.
“Season 2 and 3 are part of one series, but I chose to divide them for better pacing,” he added.

Hwang teased that rebellion would play a critical role in Season 3, along with more deadly games.
“The rebellion is an important part, but it’s also a game in itself,” he said.

In Season 3, Gi-hun will face devastating losses, including losing his closest friend—a key climactic moment. Fans should brace themselves for more drama, betrayal, and possibly tears.

One reason why Season 3 is being released more quickly than the gap between Seasons 1 and 2 is that the production for both seasons was done simultaneously.
