Squid Game 2 Script Gave Lee Byung-hun (Player 001) Chills

Jakarta – Actor Lee Byung-hun revealed that he got chills when he first read the script for Squid Game Season 2, especially after discovering the major twist involving his character, The Front Man, also known as Hwang In-ho.

Spoiler Alert!

In an interview, Lee Byung-hun shared that the most shocking moment was at the end of Episode 3 when The Front Man appeared as one of the game participants with number 001.
“When I got to that part, I got chills! I never expected The Front Man to join the game,” said Lee Byung-hun.
“I immediately thought about how I could make this scene feel real, especially since he’s disguised as Oh Young-il.”

The biggest challenge for Lee Byung-hun in this season is portraying three sides of the same character: The Front Man as the game’s controller, Hwang In-ho as his true identity, and Oh Young-il as his disguise within the game.
“Throughout the game, I had to showcase all these sides. Sometimes I was In-ho, other times The Front Man, and at other times, I was Young-il,” he explained.

Lee Byung-hun also praised Hwang Dong-hyuk, the creator and director of Squid Game, calling him a genius for crafting such a complex character as The Front Man.
“I think this is a brilliant idea from the director. I had to control every aspect of this character, and it became a new challenge for me,” added Byung-hun.

Season 2 of Squid Game not only brings back Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) as the winner of the first season but also introduces new faces that heighten fans’ curiosity.

The lineup of actors joining this season includes Park Gyu-young, Choi Seung-hyun (T.O.P), Lee Jin-wook, Jo Yuri, Yim Si-wan, and Kang Ha-neul.

Additionally, iconic characters like The Recruiter (Gong Yoo) make a return. Meanwhile, the deadly games that are the hallmark of the series are promised to be even more intense and filled with surprises.
