Jakarta – An Indian national was arrested at Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport for violating his stay permit as a tour guide. He is now detained and will be deported.
VV, an Indian citizen caught at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport, is now being held at the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center (Rudenim). He was found guilty of acting as a tour guide when apprehended at the airport.
“The individual was proven to have violated his immigration stay permit,” said Alexander Maxwell, Head of the Immigration Information and Communication Technology Division, when contacted by detikBali, Sunday (12/1/2025).
After being detained at Rudenim Denpasar, VV is planned to be deported to India. Alexander said it is not yet confirmed when VV will be deported. The Visa on Arrival (VoA) holder will be deported at his own expense.
“The plan is to deport him. However, for now, we have handed him over to Rudenim Denpasar for detention while waiting for his return (to India),” Alexander stated.

Previously reported, VV was arrested by immigration officers at the international terminal of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport on Wednesday (8/1/2025). VV was caught picking up foreign tourists and allegedly violating his stay permit by working as a tour guide in Bali.

VV was caught picking up several foreign nationals at the international terminal, directing his guests to a prepared vehicle. Immigration officers then approached VV and interrogated him on the spot.
