Jakarta – The Solo Leveling Season 2 series is one of the most anticipated anime releases in early 2025. Premiering on January 4, the anime is now heading into its third episode this week.
Sung Jinwoo, who started as an E-rank Hunter, has now become a top-tier Hunter. Following the appearance of Dungeons, humans began to develop extraordinary abilities to fight against these threats.
In the first season, Sung Jinwoo acquired the powers of a Necromancer. He continued to level up and grow stronger, capable of defeating anything in his path. Unfortunately, the first two episodes of the second season, which adapt the Red Gate Arc from the manhwa, omit significant parts of the original story.
The pacing in the second season is faster, and the anime version excludes many important scenes. In the manhwa’s chapter 46, before heading to Jinah’s school for a parent-teacher conference, Jinwoo stops by the bank to create a debit card and update his account. The bank staff is astonished by the amount of money Jinwoo possesses.
Another omitted scene shows Jinwoo meeting Jinah’s teacher, who praises his appearance. It’s the first time Jinwoo meets the teacher despite having graduated from the same school.
In chapter 48 of the manhwa, Woo Jinchul escorts Hwang Dongsoo to the Red Gate, where Hwang inquires about his brother’s funeral. Additionally, the anime does not include the scene where Jinwoo completes his daily mission in the underground dungeon.
In chapter 55, Jinho misunderstands Jinwoo’s relationship with Songyi. In the anime, Jinho does not ask Jinwoo if he should address Songyi as “Miss” to acknowledge their relationship. In the manhwa, Jinwoo clarifies the misunderstanding by explaining that Songyi is a friend of his younger sister.
In its second season, Solo Leveling is likely to adapt the Red Gate Arc, Demon Castle, Retesting Rank, Hunters Guild Gate, Return to Demon Castle, and possibly the Jeju Island Arc.
