South Korean President Agrees to Be Questioned Today After His Home Was Searched

Jakarta – South Korean investigators successfully entered the residence of President Yoon Suk Yeol. Following the search, Yoon has agreed to appear for questioning today.

“President Yoon has decided to personally appear at the Corruption Investigation Office today,” said Yoon’s lawyer, Seok Dong-hyeon, as reported by AFP, Wednesday (15/1/2025).

Seok Dong-hyeon also mentioned that Yoon will deliver a speech during his appearance. However, it remains unclear what Yoon will address.

Previously, investigators managed to enter the residence complex of South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, who is facing impeachment, on Wednesday local time. The investigators used ladders to gain access.

According to Yonhap News Agency, around 7:30 a.m. local time, dozens of police officers entered the complex in central Seoul, bypassing barricades to execute an arrest warrant for Yoon.

The search of Yoon’s residence lasted approximately 2.5 hours after the forced entry began.

The investigators were initially blocked by the Presidential Security Service, which erected barricades using vehicles near the entrance.

They were also confronted by a group of lawmakers from the ruling People Power Party and Yoon’s legal team at the entrance.
