Jakarta – Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto hosted a visit from Singapore’s Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry, Tan See Leng. The meeting took place at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs in Central Jakarta on Tuesday (14/1).
During the meeting, the two discussed cooperation in the energy and workforce sectors between Indonesia and Singapore. According to Airlangga, the Indonesian government is committed to promoting clean energy development to address the challenges of climate change.
He stated that this aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s vision to boost economic growth through environmentally sustainable development.
“The transition to green energy certainly requires a comprehensive green growth policy framework, substantial investments, and international collaboration as key elements,” Airlangga said in a statement, as quoted on Friday (17/1/2025).
Therefore, Singapore’s presence through investments in clean and renewable energy projects, leveraging various investment facilities, provides positive support for Indonesia.
Additionally, Airlangga expressed appreciation for Singapore’s commitment to enhancing the workforce capacity of both nations, including digital talent exchange programs under the Tech X framework and other workforce development initiatives.
Meanwhile, Tan See Leng affirmed that Singapore will remain a strategic partner in supporting programs to enhance the workforce quality of both countries.
