Barcelona – Barcelona has further delayed their return to Camp Nou. The Blaugrana now predict they can use the stadium again in May.

According to ESPN, Barcelona has postponed their return to Camp Nou by another three months. Initially scheduled for February, it is now expected in May.

This decision means Barcelona may finish the season at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys. LaLiga is set to end on May 25, 2025.

This is not the first time Barcelona has announced a delay in their return to Camp Nou. The renovation project, which began in June 2023, was originally projected to be completed by late 2024.

In October, President Joan Laporta stated that the timeline was unrealistic. As a result, the return was pushed to February 2025, and now it has been delayed further to May.

The total renovation is expected to be completed by June 2026. The upgrades include increasing the seating capacity to 105,000 and renovating all facilities at Camp Nou.

For now, Barcelona has confirmed that they will play at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys until April 23. This does not include the home match against Real Madrid on May 10.

This decision is said to potentially impact Barcelona’s finances. Rental costs are cited as a reason, with an estimated loss of 90 million Euros during the 2023/2024 season.
