Jakarta – Vierratale became a prominent band in the 2000s era. The band stood out with a fresh format at the time, featuring a female vocalist.
Yes, while Indonesia had other senior bands like Cokelat with female vocalists, Vierratale’s presence was no less impactful.
Carrying an emo rock music style, Vierratale also gained attention. Although the band changed its name from Vierra to Vierratale, their energy and existence remain strong to this day.
This is one of the reasons why Kevin Aprilio, the keyboardist and leader of the band, doesn’t want Vierratale to disband.
“We’ve grown up and spent years together, so we know each other well. We can accept each other’s strengths and weaknesses, which is very important,” said Kevin in South Jakarta.
Moreover, their shared vision and mission have kept Vierratale strong through the ups and downs of the music industry. For Kevin, there’s no compelling reason for Vierratale to disband.
“There’s no reason to break up. Alhamdulillah, we’ve had so many performances. Just last year, we performed 150 times,” Kevin emphasized.
The sense of ownership among the three members—Kevin, Widi, and Raka—has become deeply ingrained. They consider Vierratale as their ultimate home.
Kevin even plans for his child to carry on the name Vierratale in the future.
