Post Malone Officially Appointed as Ambassador for Record Store Day 2025

Jakarta – Guys Record Store Day (RSD), an annual event to celebrate independent music record stores and their role in music culture, has just appointed Post Malone as the ambassador for this year’s event.

In an update ahead of RSD 2025, the organizers have confirmed through the official website that Post Malone will take on the role of ambassador. “It is truly an honor, I can’t believe I was chosen as the Record Store Day Ambassador for 2025,” said Post Malone, quoting his statement on the official RSD website, Thursday (1/23/2025).

“Record Store Day is very important and I really hope to do my part to keep it alive,” he continued. For the musician born Austin Richard Post, the decision to become an RSD ambassador was an easy choice, given his fondness for visiting local record stores. “We love visiting local stores when we travel, seeing all the crazy artwork.” The whole energy in the record store is very inspiring. I felt right at home. “It’s truly an indescribable feeling to visit the store and browse among the crates, just seeing what catches your eye,” said Post. “You can search for something very specific and end up finding something completely different.” That’s the best part. Keep supporting and let’s keep these local record stores strong,” he added.

With his current role, Post Malone continues the legacy of other musicians who have also served as RSD ambassadors, including St. Vincent, Taylor Swift, Elton John, Noel Gallagher, The 1975, and Dave Grohl. This year’s RSD will be the 28th edition, with the event scheduled to take place on April 12. In Indonesia, RSD was last held for two days at Senayan Park Central Jakarta, on April 27 and 28, 2024.
