Floodwaters Overflow Again, Gubug-Karangjati Station Train Route Closed

Jakarta – PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 4 Semarang has once again closed the train line at Km 32+5/7 between Gubug Station and Karangjati Station in Grobogan Regency due to water overflow causing flooding on the track.

KAI Daop 4 Semarang Public Relations Manager, Franoto Wibowo, stated that on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 10:25 PM WIB, there was another water overflow around the train tracks. To ensure passenger safety, the line is temporarily closed.

“To ensure the safety of train travel, the line was temporarily closed due to the impact of water overflow,” he said in his statement, Saturday (25/1/2025).

Currently, KAI has deployed hundreds of infrastructure personnel, heavy equipment, and other supporting materials to handle the water overflow at the specified location. The handling process is being carried out intensively so that the route can be used again as soon as possible.

KAI will also reimplement operational pattern engineering by rerouting train journeys via the Brumbung-Gundih-Gambringan route or the Brumbung-Solo-Surabaya route.

  5. Train 4 Argo Bromo Anggrek route Jakarta-Surabaya
  6. KA 130 Gumarang route Jakarta-Surabaya

KAI Daop 4 Semarang stated that they continue to monitor the situation on-site and will provide updates on the progress of flood management to the public.

“We apologize to all train passengers for the inconvenience caused by this travel disruption.” KAI is committed to providing the best service and ensuring that the safety and security of train travel remain the top priority,” he explained.
