Bangka Belitung SME and MSME Win National Level Awards

Jakarta, Timerilis.com – The strategic role of MSMEs, SMEs, and creative industries in boosting national economic growth during a pandemic is extraordinary. They have managed to survive by utilizing digital technology and continue to develop the quality of their products. So that they can become the main choice of the market in the country.

This has encouraged the Ministry of SOEs (State Owned Enterprise) to hold the Proudly Made in Indonesia Award (ABBI) 2022. This is a form of appreciation for SMEs and MSMEs for their enthusiasm and hard work.

The Regional Secretary (Sekda) of the Bangka Belitung Islands Provincial Government (Prov. Kep. Babel), Naziarto, who was also present at the ABBI 2022 event appreciated the prestigious event for MSMEs and IKM players in the country.

In particular, IKM and UMKM from Bumi Serumpun Sebalai won awards at the event. They succeeded in eliminating hundreds of SMEs and other MSMEs through rigorous selections determined by the public to be the best in four categories: fashion, culinary, craft, beauty, and fitness.

Juragan Madu Bangka won an award as an inspirational SME in the beauty and fitness category. Meanwhile, Pepper Secret was ranked third as the best MSME in the same category.

“This is a matter of pride for all the people of Bangka Belitung. We have won an award at a national level which can be served as proof of our coaching for IKM and MSMEs that has shown success so far,” said Regional Secretary Naziarto at the Mulia Senayan Hotel, Jakarta, Tuesday ( 13/12).

He hopes that from year to year both the quality and quantity of SMEs and MSMEs products must always be improved. So that apart from being at the national level, they can take part on the international stage.

“MSMEs will be a development priority for the Provincial Government of Bangka Belitung (Babel) in the future because MSMEs are the pillar of the community’s economy. This approach to the people’s economy is very important. We will strive for our MSME products to gain market share for exports abroad,” he said.

On the other hand, Regional Secretary Naziarto said Babel Island is a province that is relatively young but has shown its fangs to compete with other provinces in the country. Proven by the achievement of awards given by the central government.

Not only the MSME sector, he also explained that previously the 31st province had won achievements in the fields of environment, mining, communications, and informatics. In the near future, it will receive an award in the agricultural sector.

“This shows that the Province of the Babel Islands continues to progress towards success,” he concluded.

With this event, it is hoped that it can be a motivation for small entrepreneurs who are still in the process of developing their businesses. This activity also supports the Proudly Made in Indonesia National Movement (Gernas BBI) program so that people can love and use local products.

The Proudly Made in Indonesia National Movement (Gernas BBI) was born at the start of the pandemic or on May 14 2020 to be precise. It has succeeded in becoming the main driving force in driving MSME entrepreneurs and SME industries in utilizing digital technology. BBI Gernas is being promoted throughout Indonesia inviting MSME entrepreneurs, small and medium industries, and artisans to onboard the e-commerce platform. (Eva)
