India’s Space Mission Will Landing on the Moon Soon

Timerilis.com – India’s third mission to explore the Moon is set to land on Wednesday. Making it the first country to land on the south pole of Earth’s satellite.

Last month, India successfully launched the Chandrayaan-3 lunar exploration mission that carried the mission of landing a rover on the Moon.

The Indian Space Research Agency said a day earlier that the mission was on schedule and systems were undergoing periodic checks.

“Smooth journey continues,” the agency wrote on Twitter.

The Indian space agency said the Chandarayan-3 lander was ready to disembark on Wednesday at 6.04 pm local time (7.34 pm GMT).

The Indian space agency also broadcast images of the Moon’s far side captured by the lander’s hazard detection system and avoidance cameras that help find safe landing areas during descent to the Moon’s surface.

As excitement scaled in India over the much-awaited landing attempt, special prayers were offered across the country for the success of the mission.

India’s Moon landing attempt comes days after Luna-25 failed to land on the Moon.

Russia’s first lunar mission in 47 years, which was expected to land on Monday, spun out of control and crashed on the Moon.

The Indian government called the landing of Chandrayaan-3 a success where its six-wheeled rover will operate fourteen days on the Moon.

The spacecraft had three major objectives: to land safely and smoothly on the Moon’s surface, to drop the rover on the Moon, and to conduct hands-on scientific experiments there. (Eva/Rd)
