Jakarta, Timerilis.com – President Joko Widodo recently initiated a tree-planting event in Jakarta’s JIEP Urban Forest, Pulogadung Industrial Area. This effort aims to combat climate change, global warming, and pollution.

The event was part of a larger campaign across the Jabodetabek region. It brought together government and corporate participants.

“Tackling climate change and global warming is crucial,” Jokowi emphasized. He highlighted the initiative’s role in reducing pollution, especially in Jabodetabek.

The team planted a variety of trees, including pulai, trembesi, sawo kecik, and bungur. Jokowi commended these trees for their ability to absorb carbon and reduce air pollution.

Jokowi announced plans to expand this tree-planting initiative across Indonesia. He pointed out that the rainy season offers the best planting conditions.

“We plan to extend tree planting to all provinces, beyond Jabodetabek,” he stated.

Jokowi also underscored the government’s commitment to the environment. He mentioned plans for over 900 tree-planting sites in Jakarta, demonstrating a strong commitment to urban greening.

The President called on all government levels to be ready for potential disasters during the rainy season. He stressed the importance of being prepared for extreme weather.

Finally, Jokowi invited the public to participate in this environmental cause. “I encourage everyone to plant trees in their own areas as a united stand against climate change,” he concluded.
