Kemenparekraf Prepares Tourism Crisis Communication Guidebook

Jakarta, Timerilis.com – The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) is compiling a tourism crisis communication guidebook to prevent, respond to, and restore tourism crisis conditions through communication.

Menparekraf Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno explained the importance of crisis communication to recover from disasters, both natural and non-natural disasters. So that it can quickly reach tourism stakeholders to immediately set policies.

“All stakeholders want to rise faster, recover stronger. Therefore, the role of crisis communication is needed to convey messages so that policies can be taken immediately that are right on target, benefits, and time,” Sandiaga said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Communication Bureau of Kemenparekraf I Gusti Ayu Dewi Hendriyani explained that this guidebook will later be able to assist stakeholders in handling a communication crisis. The guide will contain a checklist of the Communication Bureau’s actions before the crisis, responding to the crisis, until after the crisis.

In addition, to maximize the substance of this guide, Kemenparekraf requested that communication between stakeholders must be carried out so that relevant stakeholders immediately get accurate and transparent information when a crisis occurs.

The Head of the Bali Provincial Tourism Office, Tjok Bagus Pemayun, explained that his party appreciated and was grateful for the holding of this talk show which was expected to gather various inputs related to conditions that occur in the field which are directly experienced by tourism actors and the community when a crisis occurs. So that the government can analyze it and then an appropriate decision and policy can be made.

“In handling a crisis, a professionally managed information delivery system is needed. Because the way information is delivered will cause information bias. Therefore, it is necessary to create guidelines, guidelines or a definite flow in handling information related to the crisis,” he said. (Eva/Rd)
