MAMAMOO’s Hwasa Cleared Public Indecency Charges

Seongdong police in Seoul, South Korea, decided not to continue the case of vocal group MAMAMOO’s Hwasa, who was accused of public indecency some time ago, to the prosecutor’s office.

“We made the decision not to forward the case of Hwasa MAMAMOO, who was accused by the Coalition for the Protection of Human Rights of Students and Parents (KPA) on charges of public indecency. So as not to set a fine,” Seongdong Police said, as broadcast by Soompi, on Wednesday (4/10).

Police said after summoning Hwasa as a defendant, they investigated the content and performance on the day of the incident and comprehensively reviewed the statements of those involved.

“(We find it) difficult to admit criminal charges,” the police said of Hwasa MAMAMOO’s case.

In response to the report, Hwasa’s agency P Nation commented that it has received the relevant information and is reviewing it.

Previously on May 12, Hwasa performed at the Sungkyunkwan University Festival while filming “Dancing Queens on the Road” on the tvN television channel.

At that performance, Hwasa sang her solo song “Don’t” and gave a suggestive gesture that led to the Student Parent Solidarity and Human Rights Protection filing a complaint.
