Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling will reunite on the big screen after the movie “Barbie”, where they will star in the prequel movie “Ocean’s 11”.

“I can’t say much, but I think we’re just trying to do our best. I’m excited for people to enjoy it when it’s ready,” said the film’s prequel producer, Josey McNamara, reported Eonline, Wednesday local time.

This will mark the first project since 2018’s “Ocean’s 8” featuring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, and Rihanna. The prequel will be set in Monte Carlo, Monaco, in 1962 and will be “glamorous”.

However, the producer also hopes that Ryan and Margot’s reunion does not end with the “Ocean’s 11” prequel.

“They’re so compatible, the more projects, even beyond that, that they could do would be amazing,” Josey said.

Margot’s production company LuckyChap Entertainment, which also worked on “Barbie”, is behind the new movie with Austin Powers’ Jay Roach directing.

“Ocean’s 11” released in 2001 tells the story of a massive heist at a casino and features a star-studded cast, including George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, and Brad Pitt.

After the original movie, there were two sequels, “Ocean’s 12” and “Ocean’s 13”, before the all-female spin-off movie, “Ocean’s 8”.

Although his latest movie will continue the grand heist theme, Jay also said, “It’s a love story.”

“The Monaco Grand Prix is the backdrop and there’s a famous shipping magnate who owns a yacht, I wanted the movie to feel old-fashioned. Margot brought it to me as a kind of epic adventure of an old love story disguised as a heist,” Jay said last June.

On Margot and Ryan working together again, the director said, “Initially there were some questions about whether it would be weird if they were together again after ‘Barbie’? But I think there are some couples that you want to see again and again. They’re a really strong and great couple, you know?”

And if working together on this upcoming movie is anything like working together on Barbie, Ryan can expect plenty of gifts to be left outside of the trailer.

“I just bribe him, really,” Margot joked to The New York Times last July, about how the two work together.

“That’s the basis of our relationship,” she added.

Ryan admits that Margot’s daily gifts helped him get into Ken’s character.

“She left pink gifts with pink ribbons, from Barbies to Ken, every day while we were shooting,” the “La La Land” actor told Vogue.

“Everything was beach-related. Like puka shells or a sign that said ‘Pray for surfing’,” Ryan added.
