RAMENGVRL: The Audience is Crazy for Hip-Hop

Timerilis.com – Rapper RAMENGVRL thinks hip-hop music continues to grow in Indonesia. The listeners and (hip-hop) enthusiasts are amazing.

“For hip-hop (enthusiasts) in Indonesia, we are still growing the audience. The audience is crazy about hip-hop. Not only hip-hop in local but also in Asia,” he said in Jakarta, on Monday (21/8).

The “Bossy” singer is one of the performers at the Asian Sound Syndicate (ASS) Vol.2 music festival, which will take place on August 26 and 27, 2023 at West Parking JIEXPO Kemayoran. The festival is planned to present hip-hop musicians from Indonesia, Korea, and Japan.

“I have been preparing since three months ago. Usually, I perform, but I can still prepare nothing three months before. But this time it’s three months in advance,” he said.

“Even until this moment I’m quite nervous because the set is very special, there are so many collaborations from local and international,” continued RAMENGVRL, who can’t wait for the appearance of one of the participating musicians, Lee Young-ji.

Speaking of festivals, Westwew, who was also one of the performers on the same occasion, said he would prepare a special concept and set. They will perform an unreleased song with a theatrical concept.

“We will have a special set, songs that we have never played anywhere in a live band format. We are a bit theatrical, the concept. There are several unreleased songs that we will perform with a theatrical concept with those who collaborate with us,” explained Westwew.

Still, on the same occasion, All Good personnel also said they would present a special performance. They hope that local hip-hop music will get bigger and that music festivals can become a forum for hip-hop musicians could open many doors both from outside and within the country. (Eva/Rd)
